Why wasn’t this good enough?

Pants sagged because I wanted

Others I put on to appear thinner

It depended on the audience

Pierced ears at 5 so no one would question

Question the tomboy they all saw

Family events felt like picture day

After brow wax “You look so much prettier” she boasted

“Don’t forget your necklace”

New shirt, still stitched wrong 

“You’re still a ragginmuffin”
